Logical cases - pricing (deletion, quick format, file system error)

When does this apply? Accidental deletion, quick format, RAW file system, damaged partition table, index/allocation errors. The card is electronically intact.
Process in brief: read-only (forensic) acquisition → creation of a full bit-accurate image → file-system reconstruction and data recovery.

Factors that influence price:

• Amount of data to recover and complexity of the folder/file structure (many small files vs. few large files).
• File-system type (exFAT/FAT32/NTFS) and degree of damage.
• Signs of overwriting/TRIM (e.g., footage re-recorded in-camera).

When does this apply? The card is not detected, is misidentified, appears write-protected, or fails immediately on read. The controller/electronics layer is damaged; the NAND content must be extracted physically.

Process in brief: package opening → NAND chip(s) removal → lab-grade reading → vendor-specific corrections (ECC, XOR, scrambling, interleaving, bad-block map, transformations) → file-system rebuild.

Factors that influence price:

• Number, capacity, and organization of NAND chips (interleave, channels).
• Package type and adhesive/underfill (monolithic cards are especially labor-intensive).
• Nature of damage (breakage, liquid ingress, heat/voltage damage), traces of previous unsuccessful “teardowns”.
